Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the Japan Curling Association has decided to hold all spectators at the Mixed Doubles Japan Championship in Sapporo next week with no spectators.

In response to the spread of the new coronavirus and the notification from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Japan Curling Association will watch all mixed doubles Japan Championship games held at the stadium in Toyohira-ku, Sapporo from 25th to 1st next month. Refunds for tournament tickets will begin on the 22nd and will be accepted until the 14th of next month.

The tournament will be attended by 21 teams from all over the country, and the winning team will be nominated for the April World Championship.

Also, the team that has won the next year's tournament has been decided to be the candidate for the next Beijing Olympics.

The Japan Curling Association commented, "I'm very sorry for the fans who were looking forward to the tournament. Please understand this as a measure to prevent the spread of infection."
