Zamalek crowned the Egyptian Super Cup for the fourth time in its history by beating its traditional rival Al-Ahly, the local league champion 4-3, on penalties in Abu Dhabi today, Thursday.

The original time for the match ended in a negative tie between the two teams in the Emirati capital.

The match witnessed the participation of Mahmoud Kahraba, a former Zamalek player who joined Al-Ahly recently as an alternative, amid tense atmosphere and chants of mutual support between the two teams' fans who filled the stadium's stadiums.

Senegalese Alliou Badji and Mohamed Hani failed to score for Al Ahly, while Moroccan Ashraf supervised a single kick for Zamalek.

Al-Ahly of Tunisia, Ali Maaloul, Amr El-Soulia and Mahmoud Metwally, while Zamalek scored in penalty kicks Mahmoud Alaa, Tunisian Ferjani Sassi, Tariq Hamed and Abdullah Juma.

Zamalek won the African Super Cup last Friday in the Qatari capital, Doha, by beating Tunisian Esperance 3-1.
