According to information from the Italian press relayed on Thursday by Nice-Matin, Mario Balotelli filed a complaint on December 22, 2017 for attempted extortion after an accusation of sexual violence against him.
According to Il giornale di Vicenza, the Italian striker had a relationship with a minor girl during her stay in Nice, the latter assuring him that she was over 18 years old. According to Balotelli's lawyer, the girl then threatened to sue him for rape if he did not pay him the sum of 100,000 euros. She effectively filed a rape complaint against a minor on January 15, 2018.
According to another Italian daily newspaper Corriere del Veneto , a preliminary hearing into the strand of the extortion attempt is scheduled for March 24. Asked about the subject after the match against Juventus, Balotelli confirmed his version: "I complained because if they blackmail you and you pay, it means that you have a bad conscience. I did not do anything wrong ".
