Boxing JBC President Akiyama retires with Kameda's three brothers in civil trial February 20 21:14

The JBC = Japan Boxing Commission announced that Hiroshi Akiyama, who is in a civil trial with three brothers such as Koki Kameda, has resigned, and Yuhei Nagata, advisor to Tokyo Dome, has been replaced.

JBC is fighting in a civil trial with former world champions Kamiki Kameda and other "Kameda Three Brothers," and on March 31, the Tokyo District Court said that Kameda's disposal from JBC six years ago was illegal. He ordered JBC and President Akiyama to pay more than 45 million yen.

Both sides have appealed to the Tokyo High Court regarding this ruling, and Mr. Kameda has called for a renewal of the JBC system, including President Akiyama.

Under these circumstances, the JBC held a board meeting in Tokyo on the 20th, and announced that Chairman Akiyama had retired and that Nagata, an advisor to Tokyo Dome, had been elected as replacement. Mr. Akiyama will stay at JBC as a director.

In addition, JBC announced that Shinji Kushiro has resigned and has appointed Tokyo Dome President Tsutomu Nagaoka as replacement.
