Anfisa Reztsova, now 55 years old, is one of the biggest Russian biathletes with three Olympic golds and an equal number of World Cup golds.

She has swung wildly against Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff, who had a brilliant season, but opened the World Cup weakly.

- I can't believe that Eckhoff is suddenly so superior in the tracks otherwise, that she can surpass the competitors in five races just so there. I do not think it is possible without medical help, Reztsova told Sport.ru.

- And how many Norwegians actually have asthma? It is always these riders with asthma problems who win again and again.

Öberg: "It's scary"

Hanna Öberg has seen the comments and reacts strongly.

- It's on the verge of slander. To say that you need medical help to perform at her level, I think that is ... no, it's scary that an old star says so, says the 24-year-old to SVT Sport.

- I would say that I compete in a pure sport. It is not good to say that if you are a role model for so many young people.

What is your picture of Eckhoff?

- She has worked hard for a very long time and quit the job, which is why she is at this level, says Öberg.

Ferry: "Pie Throwing"

SVT's expert Björn Ferry believes that Reztsova's statement is a reaction to the irritation against Aleksandr Loginov, who has taken gold in Antholz and previously been suspended for doping.

- She turns it around, but it's general pie throwing.

How is the atmosphere between Russia and the other countries?

- Historically, Russia has low confidence capital. It takes a long time to build up, but it goes down quite quickly. Russia has razed itself at regular intervals so it takes a long time to get it back, Ferry says.

Fourcade: "She's crazy"

Therese Johaug calls Reztsova's statement "totally sick" and Martin Fourcade tweets: "I hope not all former athletes will go crazy ... She's got it".

Eckhoff himself tells Norwegian TV2:

- Nice that she thinks I'm in good shape. Unfortunately for her, I can say that I am as clean as it can be. It's sick that she can say something like that. She can come and train with me and see how it goes.
