Volkswagen has offered to pay 830 million euros to solve the macro demand filed by more than 400,000 customers affected by diesel. They demand compensation for manipulated diesel vehicles.
According to France Presse , the agreement "failed" following "exaggerated claims" referring to the fees of the lawyers of the consumer association that leads this class action lawsuit. Thousands of Spaniards have participated in it. In our country it is estimated that there are about 700,000 affected. Unlike what happened in countries like the US, where the affected cars have been repurchased , the action in Spain has been limited to calls for review.
The accusation pointed to the judgment of the Hearing of Koblenz (Germany), as a way forward. This forced Volkswagen to compensate the owner of a Sharan with 26,000 euros , a pioneer ruling that was appealed. According to VW data, around 11 million vehicles worldwide - some 2.5 million in Germany - incorporated in their software commands that truncated nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions only during laboratory tests.
