It was yesterday morning, Swedish time, that NHL veteran Jay Bouwmeester, 36, collapsed in the stall and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

"Due to a medical emergency, tonight's match will end and be played on another date," read on the jumbotron while worried players comforted each other on the ice.

Today, St. Announces Louis that Bouwmeester remains in the hospital to undergo more tests, but that the prognosis is bright.

"Getting a mindset"

Anaheim's Rickard Rakell witnessed the nasty scenes and is relieved by the update.

- Now that we have been told that the situation with Bouwmeester should be under control, it obviously feels better, but yesterday it was very tight. Most people were very emotional and contacted their own families immediately when we got off the ice and into the dressing room, Rakell tells SVT Sport.

- You get a mindset when such things happen. The doctors did a cruel and super-fast job, but understand how close a tragedy it was. Seeing them do heart and lung rescue in the booth was terrible.

New Blues match tonight

St. Louis plays again tonight against Friday away to Vegas.

- Hope they find out the reason why this happened to Jay and that he can recover as quickly as possible, says Rakell.

It is still unclear when yesterday's canceled match between St. Louis and Anaheim will be played clearly.
