Yevgeny Ustyugov was charged with doping offense in 2018, but after an investigation he was released. Russian biathlon chairman Vladimir Drachev has confirmed that the IBU (International Biathlon Association) has launched a new investigation, which is valid from 2010-2014, against the former Russian biathlon.

Ustjogov took several medals during his career. If he is convicted of a doping offense, he gets rid of all the medals.

That would mean that Sweden's men's team would receive two relay medals: Olympic Games from Vancouver 2010 and World Cup bronzes from Khanty-Mansiysk.

"Feels like an establishment"

The Swedish men's team in 2010 consisted of Fredrik Lindström, Carl-Johan Bergman, Mattias Nilsson and Björn Ferry. In 2011, Mattias Nilsson had been replaced by Magnus Jonsson.

- You always say that you have to wait for the results to see how it is, you should not say anything before it. But within the Swedish team, especially the men's team, we have always assumed that we have been stolen on some medals. So I think it feels like an establishment actually, ”says Björn Ferry to SVT Sport.

- These are team successes we have been robbed of. I think it's good. Those who have cheated should go there, they should never feel safe. Although it has been almost ten years since the Vancouver Olympics, I think it is right. You save the samples and those who cheat can go there at any time when you come up with better methods.

Ferry already has an Olympic gold, as well as World Cup gold, World Cup silver and World Cup bronze.
