It's official. The Canal and beIN groups confirmed in a press release Wednesday their alliance concerning exclusive distribution and sublicensing, a project that was made public last December. The encrypted channel will offer all of the premium sports channels from beIN Sports in its offers. Canal becomes at the same time the exclusive distributor of the sports channel.

Proud of this historic strategic partnership between @canalplus and @beinsports_FR which will allow all sports enthusiasts to take advantage of the most offer. Unity is strength đŸ’Ș @maxsaada 😉 pic.twitter.com/GCEjzXeY9D

The main sporting interest of the agreement, beIN sub-licenses its Ligue 1 TV rights for the period 2020-2024. Canal +, which had initially lost the broadcasting rights of the L1 from 2020-21 in favor of Mediapro and BeIN Sports, will therefore continue to broadcast French championship games to the tune of two posters per day, including 28 of 38 best championship posters of each season.
