Sasha Zhoya turns 18 in June, but despite her low age has already made a name for athletics.

He is regarded as one of the world's greatest talents and has, among many branches, been especially impressed with the odd combination of hurdling and pole jumping.

Better than Duplantis

As a 16-year-old, he broke the world record for his age group of 110 meters hurdles with his 13.06.

And even though he didn't break Duplanti's unofficial world record, for the age, he beat it all the same when he jumped 5.56 - five inches above Duplanti's previous record four days earlier.

Overall, as a 16-year-old, he was a world leader in six branches.

Today he holds the world record (U18) in pole jump, 60 meters hurdles and 110 meters hurdles.

Created diplomatic crisis

Lately Zhoya has created headlines for other reasons - he has chosen to compete for France instead of his native Australia. Zhoya has had two passports since birth when his mother is from France.

At the beginning of 2020, he chose to start competing for France, which stirred up his emotions greatly in Australia. Especially when he attended the prestigious WAIS (WA Institute of Sport) in Australia where the country's greatest talents are given both financial and physical conditions to continue to develop.

Despite the turbulence, Zhoya looks to have a very bright future coming to a meeting - and maybe we will see a few final sticks between Duplantis and Zhoya in a few years.
