Sätrahallen in south Stockholm: Angelica Bengtsson ran an easy workout - without pole jumping - before Tuesday's competition, after a weekend where all of Sweden's sports focus has been on Armand Duplantis and his magical 6.17 jump.
- He is "young and stupid," says Angelica Bengtsson with a smile.
Is it that he doesn't understand that what he does should be impossible?
"Yes, exactly," Angelica bursts into a laugh.Improved running
Angelica Bengtsson takes on the athletics season with confidence. Last year she made her best season ever: she set personal records both indoors and outdoors and finished sixth in the World Cup.
- I have improved my running, but not just the speed but the attitude and how I run with the stick, says Angelica Bengtsson.
So far, the 2016 European Championship medal is her main merit, and now the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Angelica Bengtsson has learned that life is more important than any exercise. She lived in France for a while, but returned home to Växjö.
- The only exciting thing that happens is the training, says Angelica Bengtsson to SVT Sport.
