Now Usmanov has both made known and donated the manuscript written by Baron de Coubertin in 1892, about how the ancient Olympic Games should resurface, to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

"I think the Olympic Museum is the most appropriate place to store this invaluable document," Usmanov told the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) website.

"This is historic, partly to see this historical document that is the basis of the Olympic movement, and partly that the manuscript returns to its Olympic home where it belongs," says Bach.

De Coubertin's 14 handwritten papers are the most expensive sports-related item sold.
