Thunderbolt in world judo, less than six months from the 2020 Olympics. Frenchman Teddy Riner, who is seeking a third historic Olympic coronation in Tokyo, bowed for the first time in more than nine years, from the 3rd tour of the Paris tournament on Sunday.

It was the Japanese number 2 Kokoro Kageura who put an end to the dizzying series of 154 fights won consecutively by the double Olympic heavyweight champion and tenfold world champion (eight times in +100 kg, twice in all categories). Riner had not been beaten since September 13, 2010.
