This is anything but a surprise: the second of the three “Olympicos” of this 2019-20 season will take place without the Marseille supporters. The Rhône prefecture has issued an order prohibiting OM fans from entering the OL Park for the Coupe de France quarter-final, OL-OM, next Wednesday (9 p.m.).

This decree is the consequence "of serious incidents which had disturbed the last championship match at the Stade Vélodrome but also the many antagonisms opposing the supporters of the two clubs", specifies Olympique Lyonnais in a press release.

Also fights in Saint-Etienne

Last November, the OL players' bus was stoned when it arrived at the Velodrome stadium. The rivalry is even stronger this season, since the former OM coach Rudi Garcia joined the Lyonnais rival.

Incidents also broke out before ASSE-OM, this Wednesday evening in Saint-Etienne. The 400 Marseille supporters who had made the trip were not allowed to enter the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium after violent fights.
