Bayern Munich has to do without Ivan Perisic for at least a month. The attacker sustained a broken ankle during training on Tuesday. FC Barcelona must miss Ousmane Dembélé for the time being. That attacker has a relapse in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Trainer Hansi Flick confirmed at a press conference that Perisic has an ankle fracture. The Croatian will have to recover for four weeks, only then can he resume training.
Perisic sustained his injury with a tackle by teammate Álvaro Odriozola. "At first it didn't look that serious, but now it turns out to be a breach," said Flick.
Perisic, who won the World Cup final with Croatia in 2018, will be rented by Internazionale from Bayern this season. He played fifteen Bundesliga games and scored four goals.
Flick has multiple injury concerns, because Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are not completely fit and besides that there are also missing Lucas Hernández, Javi Martínez and Niklas Süle for the time being.
Dembélé has a hamstring tear
Barcelona reported on social media that Dembélé suffered a crack in his hamstring during training on Monday, research in the hospital has shown.
The Catalans do not indicate how long Dembélé has been eliminated, but the expectation is that he will be out for at least four weeks.
Dembélé has been struggling with a hamstring injury for a long time. He has not been deployable for about two months, but on Monday seemed to be back on the right track as he resumed group training.
Barcelona could have used a return from Dembélé, as the team can no longer have Luis Suárez in the remainder of this season due to a knee injury.
