2019 was undoubtedly Tove Alexandersson's year. She won three golds out of three possible at the orienteering World Cup, in the World Cup she won eight of nine races and also took home the overall World Cup - for the sixth consecutive year.

Her skiing season was almost as good. She took the World Cup gold in both distance and sprint, and also took two silver. She also won in the long distance race in the Ski Orientation European Championship.

"Won almost everything"

This means that she has now been nominated as both orienteer of the year and ski instructor of the year by the international orienteering association.

"The unstoppable Swedish athlete Tove Alexandersson won almost everything in 2019," they write on their website.

Thus, Tove Alexandersson can look back on an unusual win-win week. After all, on Monday she became the big winner at the Sports Gala, where she received both the Gold Award, the Jerring Prize and the prize for this year's female athletes.
