The Los Angeles County investigator's office has announced the cause of the death of American basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others in the crash of their helicopter, while American reports revealed a strange agreement between Bryant and his wife regarding the stricken plane.

The former Los Angeles Lakers star, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter were tragically injured when his helicopter crashed near Calabasas, California, last Sunday, and the accident killed seven others on the plane.

The Los Angeles County investigative judge's office announced that all victims of the accident had lost their lives due to a "severe shock", and stated in their death certificates that the death was a result of an "accident", according to American press reports.

A member of the Board of Directors of the National Transportation Safety Board Jennifer Humende described the accident as "a very violent collision" after the plane suffered a landing rate of two thousand feet per minute.

On the other hand, US reports revealed that Bryant had never flown with his wife Vanessa in his helicopter, as he agreed with his wife that they would "never fly on a helicopter."

Reports indicated that the strange agreement was not "based on fear" of death together on the plane, but was a precaution until one of them looked after their daughters.

A source close to the couple said that they "always used to take better" for their daughters, and that is why they reached this agreement.
