World number two Serbian Novak Djokovic, defending champion, ranked third seed Swiss Roger Federer when he defeated 7-6 (7-1), 6-4, 6-3, and reached the final of the Australian Open tennis tournament, the first major grand slam for the eighth time in his professional career.

Djokovic will meet in the final next Sunday with the fifth Austrian seed Dominic Thiem or the German Alexander Zverev VII, which is the 26th final match for Djokovic in the Grand Slam titles crowned 16 times, including seven times in seven final matches in Melbourne, noting that it was the first major title in 2008 .

Djokovic is now on the verge of his 17th great title and approaching the two top-ranked Federer (20 titles) and Spain's Rafael Nadal (19 titles), who came out of the quarter-finals yesterday, Wednesday, by Them.
