A petition asking the NBA to modify its historic logo to turn it into the silhouette of legend Kobe Bryant, who died Sunday in a helicopter crash, has collected more than 2.6 million signatures on Tuesday night.

"When I started this request I was just a 16-year-old boy who had just lost a model and a hero. I used this means to deal with this death that I cry. My initial goal was to obtain only 100 signatures," wrote Nick Moghtader of Vancouver. , on the home page.
