Member of the Transitional Committee of the Football Association, head of the National Teams and Technical Affairs Committee, Ghanem Al-Hajri, revealed that "the Brazilian Al Wasl player Fabio Lima is on the list of candidates for naturalization."

Al-Hajri said in a press statement on the sidelines of the meeting of the teams committee yesterday at the headquarters of the Football Association in Dubai: “When we were asked in the committee to submit a report on the names of the qualified players for naturalization, the names of three players were raised: the Al-Wahda player Tegali, the Al Ain player Caio Canedo, and the player Fabio Lima arrived at the transitional committee, which approved them, and the matter was referred to them to the decision makers, and it was approved.

On the reason why Lima was not declared naturalized yet, he said he had no knowledge, except that his name was with Tigali and Caio, while he denied that Sharjah star Igor was among the names nominated for naturalization.

On the other hand, Al-Hajri warned that there is an imminent danger in the national team if he does not have the opportunity to prepare well before the resumption of the joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup finals next March. He said: "We do not want to repeat the Olympic experience with the first team," explaining that the Olympic gathered for a short period before the Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics, and that it contributed in one way or another to the early farewell. Noting that some Olympic players met each other for the first time on board, and that is not acceptable.

He also said that the first team coach, Serbian Jovanovic, requested that the next rally take place immediately after the 19th round of the Arab Gulf League, i.e. between 15 and 25 March, before the Malaysia and Indonesia matches.

In another aspect, the committee asked yesterday to postpone the final date of the President’s Cup, scheduled for next March 19, to be held at the end of the season or at any other time, noting that this contradicts the matches of Malaysia and Indonesia on March 26 and 31.

The teams committee demands changing the cup deadline because it conflicts with the two national team matches
