Länsberg had the chance to make it to the top ten of the world rankings in bantamweight (61.2 kilos) in a victory against former title contender Sara McMann in Raleigh, North Carolina.

But the American, who has been away from the sport for two years since she gave birth to children, dominated in the comeback.

McMann has a long track record as a wrestler, including an Olympic silver from Athens in 2004, and picked Länsberg down the carpet already 30 seconds into the first round.

The match went out of time and although the star did no major damage, she controlled almost the entire match, about 13 minutes out of a total of 15, in a dominant position on the ground.

The judge numbers were written to 30-27, 30-26 and 30-25. Two of the judges thought that McMann won one or more rounds by far.

Want to train with Länsberg

After the match, they were happy faces and when the two camps thanked each other, a happy McMann was seen inviting Länsberg to the US to train together.

"Lina can help me with my weaknesses, so I help her with her," McMann told Swedish coach Akira Corassani, also former UFC fighter.

McMann improves with his victory with 12 wins and five losses, while Länsberg, ranked 11th in the world, now has ten wins and five losses.
