The Egyptian handball team won the title of the African Cup of Nations by beating its Tunisian counterpart 27-22 today, Sunday, in the final match of the tournament that concluded today in Tunisia.

The Egyptian team ended the first period in favor of 15-11 after a distinguished performance by both teams over the course of the half.

In the second half, the Egyptian team extended the difference to six goals 23-17 in the middle of the half, but the Tunisian team reduced the difference relatively and if he could not turn the result in his favor, so that the Egyptian team won the title and avenged its defeat against the Tunisian team in the final of the last version hosted by Gabon in 2018.

And the Egyptian team reserved its seat in the handball competition in the upcoming Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020) as a representative of the African continent.

The Egyptian team became the second Arab team to qualify for the handball competition in the upcoming Olympics, where the Bahraini team preceded it by winning the Asian qualifying visa.

The two teams, Tunisia and Algeria, who won the second and third places in the current championship, have an opportunity to qualify through the global qualifiers that will be held next April in search of a new opportunity to qualify for the Olympics.
