And another podium for Clément Noël. The French skier, winner in Zagreb and Wengen in January, snatched 3rd place in the legendary Kitzbühel slalom on Sunday. Despite a fault in the first run (9th), and another huge error on the second course, Noël grabbed his 9th podium in the World Cup, at only 22 years old. In the specialty classification, he was 3rd, 52 points from Kristoffersen and 35 points from Daniel Yule, the winner of the day.

Alexis Pinturault, on the other hand, went through. Ideally placed after the first round (5th), he straddled in the second and still lost precious points for the general classification of the World Cup. This is the second time in a row that this has happened to him in slalom, after Wengen last Sunday.

Rebound expected in Schaldming on Tuesday

"I'm a little disappointed," reacted Pinturault, who appeared to be shot in the mixed zone. I don't care about mistakes but as long as there are problems it can't go. At one point I trigger a little early, I'm not comfortable on the ice and I ride. "

Alexis Pinturault is now 4th overall, 99 points behind the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen, not very flamboyant but devilishly regular. Pinturault will have to start again on Tuesday in the night slalom of Schladming (Austria) if he does not want to see his big goal of the season fly away: succeed Marcel Hirscher and win the big crystal ball.
