Saturday has dawned tinted with violence in Spanish football. Both in Barcelona, where Espanyol-Athletic was played, as in Valencia (Valencia-Barcelona), there have been serious incidents between the fans.

In the immediate vicinity of the Mestalla stadium, radical followers of Valencia (Yomus) and Barça (Boixos Nois) have engaged in a massive fight. The incidents have begun around noon, hours before the meeting begins, set for four in the afternoon in the Valencian enclosure.

Those involved in the incidents have been hit with punches and sticks and, in addition, plastic cones have been thrown, while flares have also been seen that have caused areas of smoke on Sweden Avenue, where the main access is to the stadium.

Some of those involved in the fight have used the chairs and tables of open bars in the area to throw them against those they faced. Police officers have retained and identified several dozen people allegedly linked to the violent groups that have participated in the attacks. Apparently, Barça ultras had traveled without entry to Valencia. The Police believe that they had previously been summoned through social networks.

On the other hand, a group of ultras of Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao (Herri Norte) , of antagonistic ideology, have faced each other in the center of Cornellà, near the stadium before the match between the two teams. The two groups have thrown all kinds of objects, such as tables, chairs and bottles, and have escaped when the Mossos d'Esquadra that were on the football field arrived performing the usual security tasks.

The fight has shaken the center of Cornellà on a busy day, as it is an important commercial point, so videos of the clashes over social networks have been seen. Some of them have featured images of people who have suffered significant aggressions not only with punches and kicks but also with blows of chairs on the head when they fall to the ground.
