Reigning world champion Ott Tänak crashed violently yesterday during the Rally Monte Carlo. Now he tells himself about the spectacular accident. "Obviously we were driving on something on the road that I didn't see," he says in the first interview after the crash.
Tänak drove off in a ditch at high speed and the car then continued to roll for several turns. Both Ott Tänak and his map reader Martin Järevoja left the car on their own.
The duo were taken to hospital and stayed there overnight for observation. On Saturday, they had to leave the hospital.
