Sweden has a record squad in place with a total of ten participants in the X Games. First out is Sven Thorgren who qualifies in slopestyle tonight.

- The feeling for Swedish is good. We have had some weather problems during the workouts and it has been a challenge for the slopestyle riders to get the track on the run overall. The course is very tightly built this year. In recent years there have been three jumps in a row and now there are four jumps instead, says Joakim Hammar, the snowboarding federation, to SVT Sport and continues:

- But I think it will suit Sven (Thorgren) because he is very good at going flawlessly and gaining speed. It feels very promising for Thorgren and the challenge now is to handle the new format that will be here.

neck Problems

Thorgren drove last week in Swiss Laax where he finished fifth. But before the finale, he crashed and suffered neck pain.

- There is no major problem with the injury. Then it is clear that he feels the injury, but nothing is bothering him in the ride. There is nothing that should put any sticks in the wheel today.

Unfortunately, reserve Niklas Mattsson will not start even if he should get a place.

- When we ran the training yesterday he took a pretty hard bang and he unfortunately has concussion symptoms. It does not look optimal for Niklas and in consultation with the doctors we have decided to abandon any competition plans if it should open up a place.
