Al Ain Club has completed the procedures for transferring its Brazilian player, Caio Canedo, from a foreign player to a citizen player after obtaining Emirati citizenship, to formally realize the dream of a samba dancer to defend the "white" slogan after he had been pursuing it for a long time.

Caio said in his first press statement after his naturalization and published in the Brazilian newspaper, "Lance", that he feels proud of obtaining Emirati citizenship and his transformation of the citizen player, and it is the appropriate opportunity to return the favor presented to him by the Emirates.

Caio said: "It is an honor for me, it is my pleasure to represent the team of this wonderful country."

He added: "I am very grateful for all that this country has offered me and is still providing to me and my family."

Regarding his chances of calling the national team in the coming period, Caio Canedo said: "Certainly, this will not be easy unless I continue to work hard and diligently. I am always looking to provide the best performance with Al Ain Club, I am very happy here in the Emirates and I hope that I will continue to make history ".

The Brazilian newspaper pointed out that striker Caio Canedo, a former Botafogo and Internacional team, is ready to wear the national team logo for an Emirati after he fulfills FIFA requirements to reside in the UAE 5 years ago.

Caio Kanedo, 29, moved to Al Ain early this season from Al Wasl for $ 6 million.

It is reported that Caio completed 5 years in the country last September and became eligible to play for the national team.
