Pitcher's "Limited number of balls" will also be introduced in junior high school rigid boy baseball January 20 19:16

The "limit of the number of balls" of pitchers will be introduced from Sengbat High School Baseball in the spring, but the number of pitches will also be limited in junior high school students' rigid baseball.

There are a series of players who throw their elbows and shoulders over due to throwing too much over boys' baseball. Efforts to reduce the burden on people have begun.

Under these circumstances, the Japan Baseball Federation, which organizes a national tournament for junior high school students of the Rigid Youth Baseball Team, has decided to introduce a ball count restriction at a meeting held on May 20 with representatives of each group.

Under the new rules, the pitcher's number of pitches per day at the national tournament is 80 balls, a total of 120 pitches on two consecutive days, and a limit of 40 pitches a day for three consecutive days. .

Going forward, in addition to incorporating ball count restrictions into the guidelines, we will promote measures to reduce the burden on children, such as promoting mass examinations of elbows and shoulders and introducing “low-rebound bats”.

Kozo Otagaki, Vice Chairman of the Japan Baseball Federation, said, "I would like to work with instructors and others to limit the number of balls, not just at the tournament, but also to help prevent injury to children."

The new national convention will be held in Fukushima and Ibaraki in August.
