In a competition in Växjö, seasonally debuted Angelica Bengtsson on Sunday. She already secured victory at the entry height of 4.38 and then managed 4.51, 4.58 and 4.67 in the first attempt.

When the bar came up at 4.75, it stopped Bengtsson, who stayed at 4.67. The Swede thus struck with new World Year Best.

The indoor competition in Växjö was the first since the dramatic pole vault final at the World Cup in Qatar. In the final, Bengtsson broke the stick and landed in the box, but still managed to pick up and beat the Swedish record.
