The fact that 25-year-old Johanna Skottheim is a hidden object for the general public is no exaggeration.

She has mostly been in the IBU Cup, during the World Cup, and had not been better than 42nd in a VC competition in her career prior to the Ruhpolding competitions.

Last Wednesday she was 12 in the sprint, which made for a good starting position in today's hunting start.

Grinned after finishing

There it went better than expected. Skottheim shot 19 hits and sustained only one boom. It reached a fourth place, two seconds after Hanna Öberg in goal.

It is Scotland's best career outcome. Afterwards, she found it difficult to put into words her performance.

- I laughed when I got to the finish and I will probably laugh all day. I have to call mom and dad. I do not know what is happening, I am so happy and relieved. It is sick, says a hysterical Scot to SVT Sport.

Can you describe what this means to you?

- It's so big that I don't understand it myself. I was so happy before the race that I saw that I have the capacity to fight for the top ten. Now I'm like near the podium and come to the flower ceremony.
