The 2018 silver medalist, Sebastian Samuelsson, had a heavy start to the season. Before Christmas he did not reach the top 20 once.

But the new year has begun better. He finished in 15th place in Ruhpoldings sprint on Thursday, and today it was a new good bet.

Worse on stand shooting

After two initial flawless shooters, he had advanced to a twelfth place, and the distance up to the top ten was only a few seconds.

But on the standing shoot it went a little worse. There was a boom on both shooters, and Samuelsson dropped a couple of placements. After the fourth and final shooting, he was in 16th place. In the finish, it finally became a 17th place.

- It's so windy and so high level at this competition, so you have to advance, that's what it is all about, says SVT Sports expert Björn Ferry.

Fourcade won

In the lead, just like yesterday, it was double French. Until the third shoot, Queintin Fillon Maillet and Martin Fourcade followed, but on the third shoot, Fillon Maillet bombed a shot. Fourcade, on the other hand, fired fully on all four shots - and won by 17.6 seconds.

For other Swedes, things went worse. Jesper Nelin was the second best Swedish in 39th place, after four penalties. Peppe Femling finished in 51st place after six penalties.

- There are some who feel that they have shot worse than in previous years. I hope they get it to the World Cup, says Ferry.
