Leicester City suffered the sixth defeat of the season in the Premier League on Sunday. On a visit to Burnley, top scorer Jamie Vardy missed a penalty and lost 2-1.
Initially, there was little to worry about for England's number three, as Harvey Barnes opened the score after just over half an hour. However, things went wrong in the second half.
After Chris Wood's equalizer, striker Vardy got the chance to score his eighteenth goal from the penalty spot, but he missed. In the final phase, mid-engine Burnley took the win thanks to a goal from Ashley Westwood.
With the defeat on Turf Moor, Leicester remains third in the Premier League. In a win, 'The Foxes' had reached the same level as number two Manchester City, which surprisingly broke down at Crystal Palace (2-2) on Saturday.
Later on Saturday, league-leader Liverpool will have the opportunity to further outrun the competition. Manager Jürgen Klopp's team will be at Anfield in front of rival Manchester United at 5:30 PM.
