Norén went on the third round of 68 strokes, which was one streak more than the previous two days. But with a total of fourteen under par, it was enough to advance in the results list - from twelfth to ninth place, a position he shares with ten other players.

Ahead of the decisive round, Norén is seven strokes after the lead duo, Americans Scottie Scheffler and Andrew Landry.

Today's company otherwise stood for Danish Sebastian Cappelen. He made a huge pick-up and advanced a total of 33 placements when he went on the round in just 64 strokes. The 24-year-old is in the sixth, a blow ahead of the Swede. Cappelen's best previous finish on the PGA Tour is a 35th place.

The Norse was recently passed by Marcus Kinhult on the world rankings and it is likely that they will make up for one of Sweden's supposed two Olympic venues on the men's side. Henrik Stenson has a firm grip on the second place.
