Johaug was the fastest from start to finish and only extended the lead the longer the race led.

After five kilometers, she was 17.1 seconds ahead of second Heidi Weng. In the end, the victory margin was as much as 32.7 seconds down to Russia's Natalja Neprayaeva. Weng finished third, 40 seconds after Johaug.

- As she has gone! A huge strength message again by Johaug. There were no threats against her today, SVT commentator Jacob Hård said in broadcast.

Moa Lundgren impressed

Best Swedish Moa Lundgren finished in goal one, but slipped to eighth place.

- She is young, offensive and has sprint qualities. I think her opening was really good. A new good distance race by Lundgren who makes one of his best races in his career, says SVT's expert Anders Blomquist.

Ebba Andersson finished nine and Charlotte Kalla twelve.

- The cold took harder on Ebba than we had hoped. This was a race that was below what we know she can do, says Blomquist.
