Manchester United Football Club is close to reaching an agreement with Sporting Lisbon, to include midfielder Bruno Fernandez in a deal worth 60 million pounds (about 70 million euros).

Britain's Sky Sports reported that the player will complete the procedures for joining the team after participating in his last match with Sporting against Benfica on Friday.

The network added that the "Red Devils" will pay 43 million pounds (50 million euros), with other additions reaching 17 million pounds (20 million euros).

Fernandez, 25, has ended his agreement with Manchester United officials on his personal terms, as he is expected to earn 120,000 pounds per week (141,000 euros), according to the British network.

Manchester United are fifth in the Premier League standings with 34 points after 22 stages of the competition.

After the deal is completed, Fernandez will become the second most expensive player to move from the Portuguese league after Joao Felix, Atletico Madrid's Atletico Madrid player.
