Last year, Kendall Coyne Schofield shocked an entire hockey world as she challenged the world's best and fastest ice hockey player Connor McDavid during the All Star weekend, becoming the first woman to compete in the NHL's skill competition. A chance she got after Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon was forced to decline because of injury.

This year she is back.

When the NHL announced today its presentation for the All Star weekend in St. Petersburg. Louis next weekend they announced that 20 women will participate, ten outdoor players from two nations.

During the skill competition on Friday, January 24, the United States and Canada, the two best nations on the women's side, will meet in three-on-three games over 20 minutes.

- I was alone about riding that yard. Getting on the ice with 19 other women just shows how we have earned the opportunity to have more women involved, "Kendall Coyne Schofield, who will be playing for the United States, tells AP News Agency.
