Thanks to a convincing victory, the Dutch water polosters placed themselves on Italy before the quarterfinals of the European Championship in Budapest. The Orange squad won 10-4 on Wednesday.
The most important player on the Dutch side was Maud Megens with five goals and that was two more than the Italian top scorer Roberta Bianconi.
Earlier this European Championship, where Orange hopes to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next summer, was already won with monster scores from Israel (22-3) and Germany (23-3). The Netherlands now has two group matches, against France and Spain and the numbers one through four continue.
