No sunbathing in February for Manchester United. The English club has given up its winter camp in Dubai due to tensions in the Middle East, coach Mleunan Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced on Tuesday.
The Red Devils have grown accustomed in recent seasons to training warm in winter at the Nad Al Sheba complex in Dubai. A stay in this training center was planned for the beginning of February during the first winter break of the English championship but "it will certainly not happen," said coach Solskjaer in a press conference.
US team canceled training camp in Qatar
"If there is anything that worries me, it is not on the football field. These are other things that worry me, "said the Norwegian, referring to the increase in tension following the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani during an American air bombardment on January 3.
The coach said he would give his players "a few free days" after the game against Wolverhampton on February 1, after which the club Mancunien does not play for two weeks. The United States men's football team also canceled a training session from January 5 to 25 in Qatar earlier this year "due to developments in the region".
