Ajax is going to play for the first time in club history with the name of a sponsor on the sleeve of the shirt. The Amsterdammers signed an agreement with the Curaçao Tourist Board on Wednesday.
From Sunday's home game against Sparta Rotterdam, Ajax players will wear a shirt with small letters written in red on the left sleeve of Curaçao and a sun instead of an o.
Ajax has also agreed with Curaçao Tourist Board, which has committed itself to the club until 30 June 2023, that the A-selection may visit Curaçao on a date to be determined.
It is not known how much money Ajax receives for the cooperation with the Curaçao Tourist Board, but according to De Telegraaf , Ajax receives almost 2 million euros a year, putting the deal in the top five sponsorship contracts.
