In the shadow of World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Bö, who misses the World Cup competitions in the Oberhof because he will become a father during the month of January, big brother Tarjei Bö ranks second in the overall World Cup.

Today he had the chance to barely enter the total.

But then the 31-year-old lost the skull out in the track on the sprint over 10 km.

The Norwegian fired fully on the horizontal shooting and came in standing as four, less than ten seconds after leading Martin Fourcade. There, however, there was a boom that in that situation cost him the victory. But when Bö would then go out in the penalty round, he instead went straight into the track as if he had fired fully.

Fourcade won

The veteran had a good time before he got on, turned around and took the round. Then he had lost more than a minute on the lead.

- He probably just forgot about it, says Björn Ferry in SVT.

In goal he was then 1.54 after the winner Martin Fourcade, his second victory of the season and 78th overall. Two became compatriot Émilien Jacquelin and third Johannes Kuehn. Jesper Nelin became the best Swedish in a 17th place, the only top 30.

- I am happy with the result, but a little disappointed with the weather conditions here in Oberhof. This is a winter sport, Fourcade says about the rain in German biathlon.
