Wozniacki will put the racket on the shelf after the Australian Open which begins January 20. The 29-year-old Danish has been a professional for 15 years and took his single Grand Slam title in just Melbourne 2018. On the way to the farewell, Wozniacki tries to have as much fun as possible and is now playing doubles for the sake of the rarity.

- Several times I thought "wow", I loved what she did. Several times I thought "if I could only do one of all the things she did, I would be happy," Wozniacki says of Williams' heavy blows that swept Larsson / Dolehide off the track.

- It was only victory that applied today. I am happy for my second double win in ten years.

Serena was at least as generous back:

- My partner never misses, says Williams who, despite being nine years older than Wozniacki, has not publicly announced any plans to quit.

On Thursday, both Wozniacki and Williams will play in singles where both remain in Wellington, New Zealand.
