The Saudi and Arab audiences received a great shock this morning by announcing the death of the former Saudi national team star and Al Hilal and Al-Ittihad clubs Khamis Al-Owairan at the age of 46 after a struggle from illness.

Khamis Al Owairan had played for the Saudi Hilal for four seasons between 1997 to 2001, then moved to Al-Ittihad between 2001 and 2007, and retired after his contract expired.

Al-Owairan played 105 Saudi games from 1994 to 2004, and he was born in 1973.

Khamis Al Owairan had undergone surgery in King Fahd Medical City after he was exposed to a health problem, after which he entered the hospital a year ago, but he remained ill until he announced his death this morning.

The site "Saudi Sport" had published a short time ago the story of the disease of the former Saudi star and the disease that had been resolved in a report, but the Saudi star did not succeed in overcoming his disease to meet his Lord this morning Tuesday
