Manchester United coach Olli Gunnar Solskjaer said defender Harry Maguire might miss the first leg of the English Football Association Cup final against Manchester City on Tuesday after suffering an injury to the FA Cup last Saturday.

Maguire, who joined United for 80 million pounds ($ 104.67 million) before the start of the season, had a bruise in his foot during United's 0-0 draw with his host Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he continued the game to the end.

Solskjaer told PT Sport that he was not sure whether McGuire could participate in the confrontation at Old Trafford, the stronghold of the Red Devils.

"We were on the brink of being substituted between the two halves but he fought to continue playing," said Solskjaer. "We were not sure if he should continue on the field, but he was determined to be OK."

The absence of Maguire might add to Solskjaer's troubles, as defense hearts Eric Baye and Marcos Rojo are also absent, in addition to the absence of midfielders Paul Pogba and Scott Maktuminae.

Solskjaer hopes that Anthony Marcial and Jesse Lingard will recover in the City match after being absent from the Wolverhampton match due to illness.
