French volleyball players ideally started their Olympic qualification tournament by defeating Serbia, reigning European champion, 3 sets to 0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22) Sunday afternoon in Berlin, for the first group stage match.

Placed in an extremely tough group, Laurent Tillie's players will have a second match against Bulgaria on Monday (5:00 p.m.), before concluding Wednesday against the Netherlands (8:45 p.m.).
