  • OGC Nice won its ticket for the 16th finals of the Coupe de France by defeating the Étoile Football Club Fréjus Saint-Raphaël.
  • Reduced to 10 from the 25th minute, the Var could not prevent the goals of Hicham Boudaoui and Adam Ounas.
  • OGC Nice will know the name of its next opponent this Monday, January 6 at 7 p.m.

L'Étoile Football Club Fréjus Saint-Raphaël will not have achieved this feat, this Sunday in the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France. The Varois (National 2) lost 2-0 to OGC Nice (Ligue 1), in front of 8.655 spectators at the Allianz Riviera.

The Fréjusiens reduced to 10

During the first period, the Fréjusiens had nevertheless managed to resist the repeated assaults of the Niçois. With a low shot, Wylan Cyprien forced goalkeeper Moyadh Ousseni to lie down (20 '). Twenty minutes later, Pierre Lees-Melou again asked the Var keeper, who repelled the shot wound on his post, with a superb tap opposite hand.

The Fréjusiens were engaging. A little too much. Carried away by his momentum, defender Marc Fachan cut Myziane Maolida with a tackle slipped from behind (25 '). Direct red card. From then on, Fréjus implemented the strategy of the fortress, in front of which gravitated the dashing dribbler Karim Tlili.

The liberating head of Boudaoui

Failing to make a difference in the game, the Niçois relied on a set kick. On a full axis penetration, the Aiglon Stanley Nsoki obtained a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. Shot by Wylan Cyprien, the ball was deflected for a corner. On the latter, Hicham Boudaoui, very restless since the start of the game, freed himself from the scoring and opened the score with a crossed head at the far post.

In the 66th minute, Riza Durmisi failed to double the bet for her first match under the colors of OGC Nice. His free kick crossed at ground level hit the post of Ousseni.

A first since 2013-2014

It was not until the second period that the Aiglons confirmed their victory. Launched in depth, the very active Adam Ounas won his duel and brought the score to 2-0 (90 + 2 ').
