Today, Danish football icon Jon Dahl Tomasson was introduced as the new head coach. A good choice if you ask SVT football expert Daniel Nannskog.
- It definitely feels interesting. He may not have that coach routine, especially in the European Games. He has a lot of routine as a player but as a coach he does not possess the experience. But it's a guy who is "up and coming" and hungry, says Nannskog.
A great challenge to rejuvenateAccording to Daniel Nannskog, there are still question marks what kind of football Tomasson wants to play.
- It will be exciting to see if Tomasson will run a classic 4-3-3, a set that is classic in the Netherlands where Tomasson both trained and played. During the press conference when they announced that Uwe would not stay, they talked a lot about looking at the Netherlands and Ajax and this is a step in that direction, says Nannskog.
Malmö FF wants to go more towards a more pass-oriented game along the ground, says Daniel Nannskog. But SVT's football expert also asks if you really possess the qualities of the squad.
- I think you want to go more towards being this short-pass team, but then it also applies to the players to it and I'm not so sure you have it. You probably need to recruit some. As soon as Anders Christiansen you are vulnerable and then you do not have the player types for that game.
Daniel Nannskog believes that there will be great demands for Tomasson to rejuvenate MFF and get sales out in Europe.
- You are looking to bring up younger players and then resell them. It's part of talking about Ajax, the way they work. But at the same time you should chase that gold. I love the vision but getting that combination together, it's incredibly difficult, ”says Nannskog.
