Skier Hanna Falk operated her back in October, saying that she would miss the entire season.

"I hope to be able to ski a little towards the end of winter," she told SVT Sport.

"Going forward"

But already on Saturday she was back in the ski tracks, and has gone a few more turns since then.

- It goes ahead and a little above expectation, she tells SVT Sport.

- I have no contests scheduled. But it is nice that, after a winter where you have mostly just been to the gym and run various rehab, to get out a little.

"Surprisingly good"

Falk says that the body has reacted better to ski training than she had expected beforehand.

- Still, it goes surprisingly well. I thought it would feel worse than it does. It is noticeable that you have skied a few miles in your life, that is my right element, she says.

Hope to compete in Sweden

There remains almost three months of the World Cup, but making a comeback at that level is nothing that Falk expects. However, she hopes to be able to do some minor competition before the 2019-20 season goes to 2020-21.

- Right now the goal is to exercise twice a day and just try to get used to the body. I keep increasing my passports all the time and try to come up with more amount and time in the tracks. So that's the goal right now, she says.

- It is a bonus if there can be any competition in Sweden at the end of the season. I do not see that as an impossibility. But the focus is on not taking any shortcuts in the rehab, but taking care of it and not forcing so much.

How has it been to follow the races at home during the beginning of the season?

- It's sad to sit at home on the couch and be injured, something else I can't say. But it is inspiring to see the team mates go fast. So it's a mix.

But overall, you still sound positive when talking to you. Is that how it feels?

- Yes, but I am. I am hopeful and feel very good, so it is wonderful.
