Jesper Frödén gave Skellefteå the lead as he from close range put up 1-0 after passes from Andreas Wingerli and Petter Granberg at the end of the period. In the second period, Skellefteå extended the lead through Oscar Möller and Jonathan Pudas who was nicely assisted by Joakim Lindström behind his back.

- A little lucky but I had a certain hope that he would be there. Nice to see that it went ahead and that Pudas made such a good ending, says Joakim Lindström to C More.

Nice victory

In the middle of the second period, however, Färjestad crept closer as Jonathon Blum forced in the 3–1 puck. The goal was approved after video review. Closer to that, however, Färjestad never came. With just under four minutes left of the third period, Skellefteå got a penalty that Tuomas Kiiskinen took care of and put 4-1. After 18.22 Robin Alvarez then set the final score to 5-1 in the open box.

With the loss, Färjestad loses to the serial manager Luleå who won at home against Luleå. Färjestad now has seven points up to Luleå, but with a match less played.
