It was after 12.19 in the first period that Marcus Weinstock tackled Linköping's Jaakko Rissanen in the head behind the goal. The Finn stood with his head against the coffin and he had no chance to see the Örebro player. Rissanen was able to continue playing despite the knock but for Marcus Weinstock it was finished when he got a match penalty.

As late as Saturday, Örebro's Canadian Aaron Irving received a match penalty for tackling the head of HV71 forward Martin Thörnberg. Irving was then sentenced to a suspension of matches and SEK 28,750 in fines.

Broke the loss trend

Despite Marcus Weinstock's match penalty, Örebro won against Linköping with 2-1 after goals by Glenn Gustafsson and Mathias Bromé. Broc Little reduced to home team. Örebro, which otherwise impressed in SHL, broke a three-match loss series.
