She recalled that Shcherbakova has repeatedly returned to the fight after an unsuccessful performance in the short program, which speaks of her willpower. According to the expert, it was expected that three students of Tutberidze would fight for the gold of the Russian championship.

At the same time, Tarasova emphasized that after Shcherbakova’s speech, it was difficult for other rivals to count on the top step of the podium.

“Kostornaya cannot win with her program with such skating, perseverance and the result of Shcherbakova. I would not say that Anna has weak components. Both girls are outstanding. Alena won the Grand Prix finals in one goal, but here she performed a little below her capabilities. There is nothing wrong with that, ”the trainer is sure.

According to Goncharenko, Kostornaya’s performance was largely affected by the excitement.

“Alyona trembled a bit today, it affected the box office. The trips almost turned out, she substituted a little the second leg. She was nervous, she was shaken, but she struggled with herself, therefore she deserved the second place, ”the coach noted.

Goncharenko suggested that Trusova could also be affected by the excitement connected with the fact that she had to go out on the ice last, as well as with the complex declared program. However, the skater managed to get together and cleanly roll off the ending of the number.

“In no case should she or us be upset. These are the girls whom we need to love very much for the fact that we generally have them. And competitions are competitions, always someone first, someone second, someone third, ”summarized Goncharenko.

Russian specialist Oleg Vasiliev noted that such failures can greatly affect the psychology of a young athlete, but expressed confidence that parents and coaches will provide her with proper support.

She tempers many, although there are such athletes whom she breaks, and the memory of this remains deep in the psyche. At the same time, Goncharenko emphasized that Tuktamysheva was rewriting the history of figure skating on a par with younger rivals, since before her, none of the athletes over 20 years old decided to perform a four jump in the official tournament.

“She also made such a breakthrough today, it should be noted that her fourth place in the Russian Championship is worth a lot,” the expert added.

Olympic champion in 1988 Natalia Bestemyanova did not expect from Tuktamysheva such a quick complication of the program. In addition, the specialist also noted that her risk was justified and called a terrific result at the current championship of Russia.
